We’re excited to share some new photography of our Model Home & Innovation Center.
Why do we call it Model Home & Innovation Center? The net-zero energy home serves as both a showcase for prospective buyers, as well as a research and development tool for us to study energy and moisture through home intelligence monitoring systems.
“We’ve installed sensors in the roof and walls to study energy use and moisture flow in and out of the home,” said president of Deltec, Steve Linton. “This allows us to identify what technology is working and what can be improved so we can continue to innovate for both performance and affordability.”
Leigha Dickens, green building and sustainability manager for Deltec, adds: “It’s important to understand the long-term moisture durability in our particular wall design in our particular climate. You can’t get that with secondary research.”
Updates on the home’s performance will be displayed on an iPad by the front door.
The goal of all of this is to continue innovating our homes in order to make the world a better place for future generations. Talk about a smart home!
